Taken in the summer of 1971 with the Brownie Holiday Flash camera. Cost about $2 for the camera ( I think the film cost more). The photograph is fittingly of my mother (and our cat Jethro). My mother was a great artist, a pioneer among entrepreneurial women back in the 1940's, plying her skill as a self employed fashion artist freelancing for newspapers such as the Vancouver Sun and the Ottawa Citizen..
